Report
submitted by Laura Colicchio:
Yet another magnificent Magnus
clinic was conducted over the Easter weekend. I felt compelled to do a
“brief” commentary on the event. First of all, 12 very dedicated, die-hard
riders braved wind, cold, and occasional blowing snow to participate. A
few equally dedicated auditors were present as well. Icelandic horses were
in their element in these conditions. Many thanks to Sandy and Suzi for
graciously hosting yet another successful clinic and preparing an
absolutely delicious Easter feast. Awards should probably be given to
Sally Thorpe, our “Tolt Queen” of the clinic, and to Sali Peterson for a
wonderful transformation of Saga who looked super by day two. Magnus
hopped on my mount to illustrate effortless tolt with a slight touch of the
hand and made “boogie man” noises when Raven sneakily attempted to slow
down and indicate his wish to exit at the gate. Raven knew he’d met his
match and obediently continued on with the whites of his eyes rolling
around in his head and his mane blowing upward in the gusty wind.
